Selling your house when a move is coming
A relocation puts two big projects on your calendar at once: the move itself and the sale of your house. A direct sale shrinks the second one to a few clear steps and a closing date chosen around your plans.
Line up the sale with the move
The core decision is sequence. Sell before you go and leave with the sale behind you, or move first and sell the empty house afterward. We can work with either. There is no buyer financing to wait on, so the date is driven by title work, escrow and your schedule.
Discuss your preferred date and confirm the agreed schedule in the purchase agreement. If your plans shift, talk to us early and we will do our best to adjust.
Less to coordinate while you pack
No repairs, no staging, no keeping the house spotless for showings while you are living out of boxes. Discuss any walkthrough, the written offer and the agreement before deciding.
If you have already moved, most of the remaining steps can usually be handled by phone, email and electronic documents, with the title or escrow company coordinating the closing paperwork. We will tell you early if anything needs you in person.
Questions you may have
Can I stay in the house until my moving date?
In many cases the closing date can be set around your move. Tell us your timeline and we will structure the agreement to fit it as closely as we can.
What if my start date at the new job changes?
Plans move. Let us know as soon as you can and we will work with you on the date. Clear communication solves most timing problems.
